About Us

There is not much to explain about WordCount365. It is a word counter, and its job is counting words, characters, sentences, paragraphs and estimated reading time as you type. What follows is how it works, why it exists, and what it does with your data.

Why WordCount365 exists

The reason WordCount365 exists is simple: a tool that does one thing should not need an account, a cookie wall and three scrolls of marketing copy before it shows a number. So this one does one thing — counts words, characters, sentences, paragraphs and estimated reading time as you type — and shows it immediately.

How the calculation works

No server is involved in the arithmetic. It splits the text on whitespace after normalising punctuation, so hyphenated and contracted words count once, and it derives reading time from the word count at a typical adult reading speed. We state the method openly because a tool that cannot explain its own answer is not much use to anyone trying to trust it.

Privacy by default

Your input stays local: the text you paste or type is handled entirely by the page and never leaves your device. You can turn off your connection after loading and the tool still works, which is the simplest proof that nothing is being sent.

Who it is for

Keeping the lights on

WordCount365 is free to use and supported by advertising. Adverts are kept off the working part of the page, and no advertiser receives anything you type. If a page ever becomes slow or intrusive, that is a bug worth reporting.
